There are Sundays that disappear by Tuesday, quiet evenings, early bedtimes and the slow acceptance of another work week. Then there are Sundays that linger much longer, the kind that settle into memory like a good whisky, smooth, warm and impossible to forget.

That was the mood at Thrones Bar Lounge and Restaurant on Sunday night during the Johnnie Walker Bottle Turnup dubbed “Boozy Brunch”, where revellers danced into the early hours of Monday morning.

The evening drew a lively crowd, with bartenders constantly moving across the venue serving customers eager for another round of Johnnie Walker. Bottles of Gold Label Reserve, Blue Label and Black Label arrived at tables illuminated with lights, transforming every order into a spectacle of its own.

The whisky brand dominated the venue, with bottles placed prominently at nearly every table as revellers embraced the blend of music, luxury and nightlife.

At about 10pm, DJ Jerry Mehn took over the decks and shifted the mood from laid-back elegance to a high-energy party atmosphere. An hour later, DJ Aludah stepped in, mixing R&B and Afrobeats in a set that kept the dancefloor packed.

By 1am, DJ Kasbaby, a Johnnie Walker influencer, had fully captured the crowd with a mix of Dancehall, R&B and old-school hits. His set reached a peak when he played Buwooma by Apass, prompting the crowd to sing along in unison despite the looming Monday morning.

He later switched to nostalgic classics that filled the room with a sense of familiarity and shared memories.

At exactly 1:24am, singer Tracy Melon stepped onto the stage and immediately drew the crowd closer. She performed some of her popular songs, including Sumagiza, Kakana, Totta and Ogenda Kukilaba, with many in the audience quietly singing along.

Her performance introduced a softer mood to a crowd that had earlier been in celebratory spirits following Arsenal F.C.’s English Premier League triumph.

Even at 4am, the venue remained full, with revellers who had arrived before 10pm still reluctant to leave.

Reflecting on the night, DJ Kasbaby said: “When a Johnnie Walker bottle arrives with lights and the crowd is this alive, you feel it on the decks. Tonight was one of those nights you play for.”

More than just a party, the Bottle Turnup delivered an experience built around music, connection and celebration, leaving many revellers with memories likely to linger long after the weekend ended.
